Just saw in the 'On this Day' section of the newspaper - in 1981, Charles married Diana. Anyone else remember watching it? We didn't have a colour tv in those days, so I remember going to a neighbour's house to see it in glowing technicolour on her set. Excitement! And getting to stay up late! But not quite so late as to see the whole thing because it was on until - gasp! - 1 a.m. But the thing that sticks most in my mind of this day in 1981? Throwing up half the night because I had been stuffing myself on gherkin-flavoured Philadelphia cream cheese and crackers while avidly watching the Wedding. And no, I still can't eat the stuff.
